The Kahnawake Band is a First Nation occupying the Kahnawake Mohawk Territory on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River in Quebec, Canada. It has also been known as Seigneury Sault du St. Louis and Caughnawaga (after a Mohawk village in the Mohawk Valley of New York). Kahnawake's territory totals 48.05 km2 (18.55 sq mi). As of November 2021, the Nation has 11,332 registered members, including 7,962 residing on their own reserve. The people's native language is Kanien'kéha.
