Lac Seul First Nation is an Ojibwe First Nation band located on the southeastern shores of Lac Seul, 56 kilometres (35 mi) northeast of the city of Dryden, Ontario. The Nation is a community of three distinct settlements: Frenchman’s Head, Kejick Bay, and Whitefish Bay, known as Lac Seul 28 Indian reserve, and totaling 26,821.5 hectares (104 sq mi). The on-reserve population is about 928 with a total registered population of 3,620 as of May 2021.
The people speak Ojibway, Oji-Cree, and English. Though Lac Seul First Nation is a treaty signatory to Treaty 3, the First Nation is a member of the Independent First Nations Alliance, a regional tribal council, and a member of the Nishnawbe Aski Nation.
