Saikuz First Nation is a Dalkeh Community in Central British Columbia. Its name is derived from the Dakelh (Carrier) word "on the sand" and refers to the sandy soil on which the main community, IR 1 is located on the east end of Nulki Lake, 14 km south of Vanderhoof, BC. The traditional language of Saik'uz is Southern Carrier and the band is a member of the greater Dakelh (Carrier) Nation. As of July 2021, the Nation had 985 registered members, including 337 residing on their own reserve.9
