The Coharie, which means "Driftwood" in Tuscarora, are a Native American Tribe who descend from the Carolina Iroquoian Tuscarora nation. One of 7 Native tribes in NC.

The Eastern Band of Cherokee used to be part of a larger band and was split in two when the Trial of Tears took place with the relocation to Oklahoma under Andrew Jackson resulting in the United Kituwah Band of Cherokee.
