About
The Acadia First Nation is a Mi'kmaw Nation composed of six reserves located in southwestern Nova Scotia. The band was founded in 1967 and covers the south shore area of Nova Scotia and Yarmouth County. Acadia First Nation's six reserves are Yarmouth, Ponhook, Medway, Wildcat, Gold River, and Hammonds Plains. As of August 2021, the Nation had 1,791 registered members, including 242 residing on their own reserve.
