Birdtail Sioux First Nation or Chankagha Otinta is a Dakota First Nation located about 50 km north of Virden, Manitoba. The first nation's land is around 7,128 acres (28.85 km2). The band borders the Rural Municipality of Miniota and the Rural Municipality of Archie. The main settlement is Birdtail Sioux. As of May 2021, the Nation has a total of 906 registered members, including 395 residing on their own reserve.
