Canim Lake Band

About

The Canim Lake Band is a First Nation of the Secwepemc, located in the Central Interior region of British Columbia, Canada. Its main Indian reserve is based at Canim Lake, British Columbia, near 100 Mile House. The band is a member of the Northern Shuswap Tribal Council. The Canim Lake people are known in the Shuswap or Secwepemcstin language as the Tsq'escenemc, "people of standing rock," while their community is known as Tsq'escen' ("standing rock"). Canim Lake band has five Indian Reserves. As of June 2021, the Nation had a total of 608 registered members, including 405 residing on their own reserve.
