The Fort Nelson First Nation is a band located seven km south of the town of Fort Nelson in the northeastern corner of British Columbia. It is situated at Mile 293-295 on the Alaska Highway. The Nation is a Slavey/Cree linguistic group. As of July 2021, the Nation had 981 registered members, including 417 residing on their own reserve. Fort Nelson is one of six nations that belong to Treaty 8 First Nations.
