Fort Severn First Nation

Fort Severn First Nation is a Western Swampy Cree First Nation band located on Hudson Bay and is the most northern community in Ontario, Canada. The community is about 720 km NE of Sioux Lookout, 9 km from the mouth of Severn River on Hudson Bay. The people are from Sachigo Sippi (River) Ojibway's. Fort Severn First Nation people speak the Ojibway dialect known as Severn Dialect or Oji-Cree. As of May 2021, the band's total registered population was 725, with 545 living on their own reserve called Fort Severn 89.
