Garden Hill First Nation is a band located in the northeast section of Manitoba on the shore of Island Lake. The First Nation is a signatory of Treaty 5 and was part of the bigger Island Lake First Nation. In 1969, Island Lake First Nation separated into four, including Garden Hill First Nation. The residents of Garden Hill speak Oji-Cree, the traditional First Nations language, and English. As of June 2021, Garden Hill First Nations had a registered population of 4,794, with 3,975 members living on their own reserve.
