About
The Liard River First Nation is a band in southeastern Yukon, Canada. The Liard First Nation is one of four Kaska First Nations. Its main centres are Upper Liard and Watson Lake along the Alaska Highway. The language spoken by the people of this First Nation is Kaska and the First Nation is a member of the Kaska Tribal Council, which is pursuing land claims in the Yukon and northern British Columbia. As of May 2021, the Nation has a total of 1,225 registered members, including 142 living on their own reserve.
