About
The Nazko First Nation is band of the Dakelh people in the north-central Interior of British Columbia. Its located on the Nazko River and has 19 reserves. Three of the reserves, Baezaeko, Trout Lake, and Nazko are inhabited by the membership. Nazko, IR #20, is the main reserve and is located 100 kms west of Quesnel on the Nazko Highway #59 in the interior of British Columbia. The Nazko people are part of the Carrier Nation and Nazko’s traditional language, Carrier, is part of the northern Athapaskan language family. As of June 2021, the Nation had a total of 412 registered members, including 115 residing on their own reserve.
