Nigigoonsiminikaaning First Nation, formerly known as the Nicickousemenecaning First Nation and as the Red Gut First Nation, is a Saulteaux First Nation band that inhabits the banks of Rainy Lake of the Rainy River District in Northwestern Ontario, Canada. The First Nation has reserved for itself four Indian Reserves: Rainy Lake 26A, which serves as their main reserve, Rainy Lake 26B, Rainy Lake 26C, and Agency 1, which is shared with three other First Nations. 

The First Nation is located 40 kms east of Fort Frances. The community is situated 300 kms west of Thunder Bay, 300 kms east of Winnipeg, and approximately 500 kms north of Minneapolis, Minnesota.  It is relatively isolated physically and economically from mainstream Canada. As of May 2021, the First Nation had a registered population of 415, with 179 living on their own reserve.
