The Skidegate Band Council, also known as the Skidegate First Nation, is a band of the Haida people, one of two of the Council of the Haida Nation. It is the largest community in Haida Gwaii, off the coast of British Columbia, near the Alaskan border. The band's offices are located in Skidegate, British Columbia. Xaad Kil is the traditional language of the people. As of June 2021, the Nation had 1,699 registered members, including 661 residing on their own reserve.
