About

Mitaanjigamiing First Nation, formerly known as Stanjikoming First Nation, is an Ojibwe First Nation band based 16 km north of Fort Frances, Ontario, along the shores of Stanjikoming Bay of Rainy Lake. The reserve encompasses about 1,600 hectares of land, comprised of 14 sq.km of mainland, a peninsula, and two islands. The band's registered members as of May 2021 is 192 people, with 131 members living on reserve. The First Nation is a member of the Pwi-Di-Goo-Zing Ne-Yaa-Zhing Advisory Services.
