Tla'amin Nation

About

The Tla'amin First Nation (formerly Sliammon First Nation) is a band whose lands and traditional territories are located on the upper Sunshine Coast in southwestern British Columbia, Canada. Tla'amin Nation resides just north of the city of Powell River in British Columbia, along Highway 101. The people have been part of the Coast Salish indigenous peoples of the western coast of Canada since ancient times. Their ancestral tongue is ʔayʔaǰuθəm (Ay-A-Ju-Thum). As of August 2021, the Nation had a total of 1,184 registered members, including 615 residing on their own reserve.
