About
The Tsawout First Nation is a First Nations band located on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. The First Nation is one of five bands that constitute the Saanich Nation. It is a member of the Sencot'en Alliance and signed the Douglas Treaties in the 1850s. East Saanich IR No. 2, the Tsawout First Nation's main village, is about 241 hectares in size and around 15 minutes north of the City of Victoria and lies on the east side of the Saanich Peninsula. As of June 2021, the Nation had a total of 961 registered members, including 547 residing on their own reserve.
