Tseshaht First Nation

About

Tseshaht First Nation is an amalgamation of many tribes up and down Alberni Inlet and in the Alberni Valley of central Vancouver Island in British Columbia. The First Nation is one of 14 that make up the Nuu-chah-nulth culture and is a member of the Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council. The main reserve community is located in Port Alberni, British Columbia. The people's language is a member of the Wakashan family. As of June 2021, the Nation had a total of 1,236 registered members, including 450 residing on their own reserve.
