Wôlinak First Nation

About

Wôlinak First Nation is one of the two Abenaki communities that are part of the Waban-Aki Nation in Quebec. Wôlinak means “the river with long bends” in Abénakis. It is located in the Centre-du-Québec region near the mouth of the Bécancour River and is an enclave within the city of Bécancour. The band was one of the Seven Nations of Canada.
