Washagamis Bay First Nation

About

Washagamis (Obashkaandagaang) Bay First Nation is an Ojibwe First Nation in northwestern Ontario. It has two reserves; Rat Portage 38A and Agency 30 Settlement, which is shared with 12 other communities. Washagamis First Nation has a land area of about 29.8 sq km. The reserve is about 15 km SW of Kenora off Hwy 17E, on the peninsula and mainland along N shores of Lake of the Woods. The band is a member of the Bimose Tribal Council and the Grand Council of Treaty 3. As of May 2021, the Nation has a total of 337 registered members, including 149 residents.
