About
Whapmagoostui First Nation is the northernmost Cree band in Quebec, Canada. It is located at the mouth of the Great Whale River on the coast of Hudson Bay in Nunavik. It was established in 1979 and officially named Whapmagoostui in 1986. Whapmagoostui is the home to about 1009 Crees. Eeyou traditions, culture, and language are still very strong in the community.
